3 Creative Ways to Decorate with Things You Already Have

Before going out and buying all new luxury classic bedroom furniture or decorations, think of how many more interesting and personalized pieces of art you can make from what you already own!

Here are three fun and original ideas to get you started.

A Picture Frame Made from a Broken Mirror

You will need: -An old, broken mirror -Glue gun with glue sticks -Scissors -At least one picture of your choosing (this can be a picture of yourself or one that you find online)  -A picture frame (if you don't already have one at home, pick one up from a thrift store)

Take the mirror and cut it so that you can fit the pieces around your chosen picture. Glue each piece of mirror to the back of your photo. Remember: you want this to be a little bit loose so that you can easily take your photo out and switch it for another one later on. Once you've glued each piece of mirror to the back of your picture, insert the photo into a frame and enjoy!

This is an artsy and unique way to put a new spin on something as traditional as a picture frame. By using mirrors instead of glass, this project also adds an element of delicate sparkle to your room.

A Wine Bottle Vase

You will need: -One empty, clean wine bottle -A permanent marker (black works best for this project) -Scissors or a wine bottle opener

Take your marker and the scissors/wine bottle opener and carefully cut off the top third of your wine bottle. Then, cut the bottom third in the opposite direction to create a diamond shape at the bottom.

Fill up your newly-made vase with water and put fresh flowers inside! Voila: you now have a customized piece that will add some class to your room without breaking the bank. This project is especially nice because it can also be a great way to store your pens and pencils, which otherwise might clutter your desk!

A Lamp from an Old Bottle

You will need: -An empty, clean wine bottle or other glass bottle with a narrow neck -A permanent marker (black works best for this project) -Scissors or a wine bottle opener

Take your marker and the scissors/wine bottle opener and carefully cut off the top third of your wine bottle. Then, cut the bottom third in the opposite direction to create a diamond shape at the bottom.

Now, you will need to decorate your lamp! This is an open-ended project that can be done in different ways depending on preference. You can paint some funky designs or characters on your lamp with the marker, or you could try stringing beads across the top for a cool effect.

Once your lamp is decorated to your liking, fill it with some spare change and stick in an LED lightbulb to turn it into a nightlight!
